Thank you to those that have joined so far! If you haven't made your intro post yet, please do so soon so we can all get to know each other a little better and get the ball rolling here :)

If you have any LJ friends that you think would be great for this community, please comment or message me their LJ and I will view their work for consideration.

Members: Post, post, post! As often as you'd like, new work, old work, 2 pictures, 10 pictures, just keep them coming :)

Here are just a bunch of random photos I've been working on this past week

Name:
Suzanne Clements

I'm a recent convert to photography as delivery method rather than documentation method although I don't really consider myself a photographer. Always having been a painter, the move to the camera was facilitated by impatience with the drying time of paint and general artistic pouting. I'm still learning a great deal as I muddle through.

Location:
Melbourne, FL

Websites:

Cameras/Equipment:
Sony Alpha 700, firmware V.4, Nikon D40x, and for ttv Olympus C8080 & an Argus 75 as well as a Kodak Duaflex.

Favorite photographers:
I'm fairly new, but I have found a lot of wonderful photographers via flickr (not to mention the existing members of course):

Linda's Many Muses: http://www.flickr.com/photos/manymuses/
Ronald Coster: http://www.flickr.com/photos/7401855@N08/

At least three of my photos:

Soft TTV
TTV Studio shot using the Olympus and Argus 75

Memory of a Beach
Dreamy Melbourne Beach, Nikon D40x

Blue Bright
Bright blue butterfly... I pin and collect these babies.

Seems like this could be a great community! I have been looking for a place to post larger files, so I hope 900 pixels on the wide side isn't over any limit. Let me know if it is, and I will promptly resize :)

Name: Miriam. I actually go by Mimi.

Location: Madison, WI

Website: http://sea-snake.livejournal.com

Cameras/Equipment: I got a Canon 5d in July and had been using a Canon 300d prior to that. For lenses, my favorite is a 50mm f/1.4. I also have a 17-40mm f/4.0 and a 24-70mm f/2.8.

Favorite photographers: Not work-safe in the slightest, but I love Olive and Rose.

At least three of my photos: I primarily take self-portraits, so I imagine that is what I will most frequently be posting here. Feel free to let me know when you get sick of my face. Here are some very recent ones.

The aim of this community is to get your photos seen and to discover amazing artists you may otherwise never know of. Please let your friends know of this new community so it can continue to grow quickly. Hopefully this takes off - I'm looking forward to lots of great photographs :)

Once you're a member, please make an intro post letting us know a little about yourself and showing us your mad skills with a camera.

I'll get us started.
